staff_development_and_training_pic1.jpgWe recognise that our most important single resource is the quality of our staff and we are committed to the development of this key resource.

We believe that the contracts and programmes offered to our customers and clients will be the best when they are delivered by dynamic and committed staff, who themselves have access to high quality training opportunities to develop themselves as professionals.

Staff Development Unit
We have a staff development unit based at our office in our Head Office. From here we organise and co-ordinate all training events. Through this centralised unit we ensure that the quality of training meets acceptable standards through-out the company. Each staff-member has access to information provided by this unit regarding all the training programmes and feedback from all training activities is an essential element of our quality assurance.

What training do we provide?
Our comprehensive training programme is tailored to ensure that each person throughout the company receives recommended core-training. This ensures that all our staff are trained to the highest standard. We also encourage staff to develop their skills and knowledge with additional external training.

Our existing programme covers eighteen different training courses; these include our Company Induction, Equal Opportunities and Diversity, Benefits Awareness, Successful Client Interviewing, Jobsearch Skills and Caseload Management; we also actively encourage staff to achieve relevant NVQ's

Our trainers are suitably qualified and experienced to deliver the company training programme. Development and Training management regularly review feedback and observe the training delivery.

Appraisals

Every member of staff is appraised annually. The appraisal process will enable each member of staff to discuss their achievements, performance, development needs and career aspirations.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING POLICY

Our policy is to identify the key skills and behaviours essential to staff development and set standards around them whilst meeting IIP and ALI criteria.

All staff development and training activities will be targeted to contribute directly or indirectly towards developing services which promote opportunities for all sectors of the community.

When appropriate, staff development and training activities will be supported by recognised qualifications suitable to meet the needs of the company and the employee.

The key areas of Staff Development are:

  • The improvement of the skills, knowledge and behaviour needed to carry out immediate and future roles, including the development of new skills, knowledge and behaviour as requirements of the company change.
  • The enhancement of core capabilities needed to maintain personal employability within the marketplace.
  • Personal growth that will contribute to the future success of the company.

The balance of priorities may vary over time in relation to business requirements. However, it will always reflect the value the company places on its employees, and support the commitment to providing and promoting equality of opportunity.
