Our commitment to inclusion and diversity

Maximus UK is committed to creating an inclusive working environment. We want colleagues to feel valued and empowered to learn, grow and thrive.

We have worked with colleagues at all levels to develop an Inclusion and Diversity framework. This is an ambitious strategy to drive a work culture in which all colleagues feel respected, valued and included.

Our Inclusion and Diversity Board is co-chaired by Isoken Idahosa, a Functional Nurse Assessor.

“In my new role, I get to influence change and impact people’s lives, which is very rewarding.

“Maximus UK is a diverse and inclusive company which values its workforce. We have four focus areas: Creating an Inclusive Culture, Talent & Development, Recruitment & Onboarding and Targeted Action.

“The objective is to become a diverse company at every level. We strive for greater representation of black and minority ethnic, LGBTQ+ and disabled colleagues in senior roles.

“This brings different perspectives to our business, ensuring we better reflect the diverse communities we serve.

“We also aim to increase internal promotion for people from diverse backgrounds. We will seek accreditations such as the Stonewall Workplace Equality accreditation, which improves the working environment for LGBTQ+ colleagues.

“The first action on this agenda was the recent launch of MaxWomen, a new network to empower female colleagues to succeed within the business.

“Through this, we are reviewing the recruitment and promotion process, along with networking and mentoring opportunities.

“A mentoring programme for under-represented groups was also introduced, and other colleague-led networks are currently in development. Groups will focus on LGBTQ+, disability and faith.

“Ultimately, we want colleagues to be able to bring their ‘whole selves’ to work and to be fully accepted.

“There have been exciting developments in the few short months since this process began. I am very confident that the framework will be successful.”

Maximus is a global business, and our work to improve inclusion and diversity is a global effort.

Maximus CEO Bruce Caswell has committed to two new initiatives. The first of these is CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, a CEO-driven business group committed to advancing diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

The second is The Valuable 500, a global movement putting disability inclusion on the business leadership agenda.
