Over the last year Maximus has continued to provide tailored and specialist support to thousands of people in communities across the country – helping them to find sustainable employment, obtain new skills, stay healthy and access the support they need to move forward.

2023 was a year of growth and change for us as we built on our successes with the launch of two new employability programmes, Work and Health Programme Pioneer and the Refugee Employability Programme. Both are already making a positive and life-changing difference to those facing unique challenges as they look to enter the labour market.

Building on our expertise of working within local communities, our dedicated teams came together to deliver several new community health and wellbeing services – creating bespoke and innovative solutions for children, young people, families and adults to help them make healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes.

We also marked the end of our Education, Training and Employment service, which has been instrumental in helping men on probation to overcome their barriers. During three successful years of delivery, we provided comprehensive support to more than 12,500 people who entered the programme across London, Wales, West Midland and the North West.

Meanwhile in Scotland, the Fair Start Scotland service came to an end after six years, with our colleagues responsible for achieving some impressive milestones including helping more than 6,000 Scottish residents into work.

As a leading health assessments provider to government, we have continued to deliver a highly-effective and sensitive service, and are looking ahead to the launch of the Functional Assessment Service from September this year.

Underlining our commitment to invest in communities across the UK, our Local Impact Fund is continuing to make an impact with £150,000 now invested into 25 community projects and initiatives, ranging from creative workshops for young ethnic minority people to holistic wellbeing support for women and families.

We remain dedicated to ensuring our values are embedded in everything we do, and through close collaboration with our colleague-led networks, we are driving positive change across the business to ensure all colleagues feel seen, heard and included.

As we look ahead to the coming year, our ambitions remain high. We remain focused on embracing emerging technologies, developing innovative solutions to improve our services and ultimately, transforming lives for millions of people across the country.
