Experience and expertise: Karen is a senior clinical leader, specialising in occupational medicine with a foundation in general practice. Since joining Maximus in 2018, she has held a range of national roles spanning clinical training, governance, and innovation. She brings a strategic lens to healthcare delivery, embedding clinical leadership into the heart of business development, transformation, and digital design.
With a strong interest in the future of healthcare, Karen represents Maximus at NHS England and contributes to cross-sector collaborations. Her current work includes shaping AI governance frameworks, supporting clinical development and innovation.
Karen holds multiple postgraduate qualifications in clinical governance, healthcare leadership, and occupational medicine. She is currently completing her MBA, with a dissertation focused on the strategic deployment of AI in healthcare.
Hobbies and interests: Outside work, Karen enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, and staying active with her three lively dogs.
Outside appointments: A Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, Karen also sits on the CMI South West Regional Board. She leads education for the Society of Occupational Medicine and hosts their podcast series on work and health.
