Clinical Governance

Clinical governance and audit is an integral part of the Health Managment Quality Management System. Our successful clinical governance system provides evidence to assess and respond to performance. We take steps to identify and resolve any areas where performance is below acceptable standards. These are externally audited by third parties for accreditation including ISO9001 and SEQOHS.

The effectiveness of our clinical quality is backed by:

  • Customer feedback after every report
  • Peer review audits for each occupational health physician and nurse
  • External reviews
  • Employee satisfaction with assessments
  • Facility audits
  • Multi-source feedback for clinician appraisals
  • Complaints management process

CPD and Appraisals

The appraisal system is one of the cornerstones of revalidation and a high-quality appraisal protocol is essential to demonstrate that each clinician is up-to-date and fit to practise.

The Health Management medical appraisal protocols ensure that clinicians undertake annual appraisals and meet the requirements for continuing professional development (CPD). Our appraisals provide a safe environment for personal development requirements, ensure effective leadership and management, and are backed by supporting evidence gathered throughout the year.

As part of every clinician’s contract, we provide development opportunities such as regulatory training, development courses or attendance at our annual clinical conferences.
