MAXIMUS Foundation UK calls for charity grants with publication of inaugural annual report

A national grant giving foundation has issued a call for charity and community group funding applications to mark the publication of its annual report, revealing more than £57,000 in donations during its first year of operations.

The MAXIMUS Foundation UK, formed in 2015, has committed to continued funding of local charitable and community schemes. The Foundation has also used its annual report to confirm its efforts will be focused on community and local engagement rather than supporting established third sector organisations.

Grants will be paid in two cycles during the next 12 months, although the Foundation will accept applications throughout the year.

Grants awarded by the Foundation in 2015/16 included funding for the development of a memorial garden for parents supported by the Sands charity branch in Farnborough. Other awards included funding for the replacement of lifejackets for the Disabled Sailing Association and funding to support the rehabilitation of spinal injury patients.

Marilyn Saunders, Chairman of the MAXIMUS Foundation UK, said:

“The past year has been immensely gratifying for the Foundation Board of Trustees who’ve had the opportunity to work with some wonderful local causes. The difference that grants have made to a range of smaller charities and community groups has been profound. The organisations we’ve supported are making huge differences to people’s lives, often when they are in extremely difficult circumstances.

“I very much hope that more small charities and community groups will apply for grants. We look forward to supporting more good causes in the coming year.”
