As part of our ongoing social value commitment, we’re continuing to support organisations that understand local challenges best – empowering them to strengthen their communities, build labour market resilience, and address local needs.
Since launching in March 2023, the Local Impact Fund has invested over £275,000 in 43 innovative projects that deliver lasting community impact.
Delivered through the Restart Scheme, these grants support charities and community groups across South and West Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and South and East London – helping strengthen local economies and boost community resilience.
In the latest funding round, Maximus awarded £46,000 to seven organisations in South and East London. From empowering women through employability and digital skills training, and supporting underrepresented young people with leadership workshops, to tackling social isolation among the elderly, each initiative plays a vital role in helping local communities to thrive.
Fatima Iqbal, Social Value Manager for South and East London at Maximus, said: “In this latest round of grant funding, we’re proud to support a number of charities we’ve never partnered with before. This marks an exciting step in expanding our reach. By working with new organisations, we’re not only addressing immediate funding gaps but also laying the foundation for long-term relationships, future volunteering opportunities, and the potential to grow our Community Partnership Network membership. These partnerships will help us support even more people move towards sustained employment and strengthen our impact in the wider community.”
