Maximus, a leading provider of tech-enabled government services, has announced the appointment of Dr Paul Williams as General Manager for its Outside the U.S. Segment.

In this role, Dr Williams will lead operations across all Maximus delivery outside of the United States, an international business portfolio spanning three continents delivering, health programme administration, independent assessments, and workforce and disability services. He will report directly to Bruce Caswell, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Reflecting on the appointment, Caswell said: “Paul’s appointment underscores our commitment to disciplined expansion across our international markets. His leadership in clinical innovation and digital capability development will elevate our ability to support governments outside the U.S. and deliver stronger outcomes for the people they serve.

“As Paul steps into this role, I want to wish the best for Kevin Reilly as he retires from his role leading our Outside the U.S. Segment and thank him for his significant contributions to Maximus over the past 20+ years.”

Recognised as a leader in occupational medicine, Dr Williams has held senior clinical roles in the UK’s National Health Service, policing and some of the country’s largest businesses. In 2017 he was elected as President of the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) and is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM).

He joined Maximus in 2015, first as Chief Medical Officer and then as Programme Director for the Health Assessment Advisory Service. In 2018, he became Division President of Maximus UK, leading more than 5,000 colleagues delivering services on behalf of national and devolved governments, including 1,800 clinicians delivering health services on behalf of the UK Government.

Dr Paul Williams said: “I’m honoured to take on this role for Maximus and for the governments we support. Across our international markets, demand is growing for innovative, digitally enabled services that improve citizen experiences and deliver measurable value. Our talented teams are ready to rise to the occasion, expand our impact, and help our partners meet the evolving needs of the communities they serve.”
