Appointed as a Trustee: August 2019

Foundation role: James is a Trustee and represents the Health Division. His key duties as a Trustee are: to support and encourage fundraising across the business, to attend and make cheque presentations and make key decisions on the Foundation. James is a keen fundraiser and has led or taken part in many initiatives over the years.

Appointed to substantive role: December 2020

Current role: Operations Director

James oversees our operational strategy and is responsible for a multi-disciplinary delivery team, comprised of clinical staff, operational management and account management functions.

He has leadership responsibility for our customer services administrators, scheduling and performance teams – ensuring the smooth, consistent and rigorous delivery of our clinical services.

His other responsibilities include leadership of our product team, ensuring that our products meet client needs and offer innovation within the marketplace.

Experience and expertise: James joined Maximus in 2016 having more than 10 years’ experience within the health sector. His work included: delivering the first national diabetes prevention service, along with community-based health improvement services.

His previous senior roles at Maximus have included: managing our Primary Care services, introducing a new telephony system, managing our COVID-19 restart response as well as facilities, estates, and health and safety. He has also led growth projects such as our new service offerings such as wellbeing, musculoskeletal support and mental health.

Hobbies and interests: Outside work, James enjoys playing squash, spending time with his family and submerging himself in all things to do with property renovation.
