Maximus UK held the official opening of the new Restart Scheme office in Bromley on Friday 18th March 2022.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for guests to meet the Maximus team and local partners, whilst learning about the positive impact the Restart Scheme is having on the community.

Since its launch in July, the Scheme has been supporting people in several South and East London boroughs to secure sustainable employment, transforming their lives.

It provides 12 months of tailored and community-based support for people who are long-term unemployed, and forms part of the Government’s Plan for Jobs.

Participants receive support to learn new skills, overcome barriers to work and gain access to vacancies to help them secure employment. They are also given the opportunity to retrain to find work in growth sectors, gain professional accreditations and improve digital skills.

Sir Bob Neill, MP for Bromley and Chislehurst, was the guest of honour and spoke about the Scheme’s importance:

“It’s great to open the new Restart Scheme office in Bromley with Maximus, who are working in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions.

“I’ve been really impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment of the team. This is about changing people’s lives for the better; it’s very good news for Bromley and it will be a great asset to the town.”

Fareed Ahmed, Operations Manager for Bromley at Maximus UK, said:

“We’re here to make a difference in Bromley and now, with our new home, we can continue to empower every participant that walks through our doors to achieve their potential and be the best that they can be.”
