At Maximus, we’ve been helping people into work for more than 70 years. Whether you have a disability, health condition or criminal record, or have just been out of work for a while, we have the right support for you.

Restart Scheme
The Restart Scheme, delivered on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, is an initiative which principally supports people who have spent six months or more claiming Universal Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance to help them get back into work.

Refugee Employability Programme
Delivered on behalf of the Home Office, this service helps refugees prepare for work and life in England, with individual support and a learning plan to improve their English and career skills.

Work and Health Programme
This programme, delivered on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions and local commissioners. It offers up to 21 months of tailored, community-based employment support for two groups: people with disabilities and health conditions; and also the long-term unemployed, to help them develop their skills and enter work.

Work and Health Programme Pioneer
This specialist employment programme is delivered on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions and local commissioners. It offers support for people who are not working to develop their skills and enter work.

Skills Programmes
Our Skills Programmes, delivered on behalf of local commissioners, offer fully funded courses to help people find a job and do well at work. From Digital Skills and English for Speakers of Other Languages to sector-specific training, we can provide the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed.

Fair Start Scotland
This programme, delivered on behalf of Scottish Government, provides up to 18 months of holistic employment support for people with complex needs, disabled individuals, the long-term unemployed, and those with significant barriers to work.

Intensive Personalised Employment Service
This programme, delivered on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, offers up to 21 months tailored support, to help disabled individuals with complex barriers achieve their employment potential, and in-work support.
As of 17 November we are no longer taking referrals to IPES. The last participants referred will be supported on their IPES journey right through to September 2025, when the programme will end.

Access To Work Mental Health Support Service
The Access to Work Mental Health Support Service, delivered on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, provides nine months of tailored mental health support to employees who are experiencing depression, anxiety or stress to help them stay in, or return to, the workplace, at no cost to the individual or employer.

Access to Work Holistic Assessments Service
Delivered on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, this service provides workplace support to individuals whose disability or health condition impacts their job.

Student Bursary Support Service
This programme, delivered on behalf of the Department for Education administers student claims to help young parents under the age of 20 with the cost of childcare while they study. We deliver this service across England.

In Wales, we deliver five employability programmes to support people back into work. These are delivered across the region from more than a dozen locations.
