What do you know about menopause?

It often goes undiscussed in the workplace, despite it impacting millions of women across the country.

The menopause is a natural change in a woman’s life that usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55.

Let’s look at some data. There are 4.4 million women aged 50-64 in work in the UK (ONS 2019)

Around 80% of women will experience noticeable menopause symptoms and of these 45% will find their symptoms hard to deal with (TUC). Many women report workplace environments and practices can make their symptoms worse.

It’s vital that employers provide the right environment and support to women to manage their symptoms and thrive at work.

What can you do to help?
