Supporting disabled people through Access to Work Holistic Assessments

Maximus is proud to begin delivering Access to Work Holistic Assessments, on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, providing practical support to tens of thousands of disabled people to help them overcome work-related obstacles.

Operating throughout England, Scotland and Wales, individuals are given advice, a possible assessment of their disability needs in the workplace, and if required, a financial grant towards the cost of any necessary support.

Access to Work is not means tested and can fund up flexible, personalised support towards disability related costs in the workplace that are beyond standard reasonable adjustments. This could include workplace adaptations, BSL interpretation or support with transport.

All Access to Work applications are treated on an individual basis, either virtually or face-to-face by our expert team of health practitioners.

Those who are already in paid employment, self-employed or participating in a Jobcentre Plus agreed Job or Work Trial which may have already commenced or is due to commence, are eligible to apply.

Gareth Parry, Programme Director for Employability at Maximus, said: “As one of the largest providers of employment and disability support programmes in the country, Maximus has considerable expertise in helping those with disabilities and health conditions to move forward. We’re proud to be delivering this service that ensures disabled people can access the support they need to overcome any work-related obstacles and thrive in work.”

Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, Tom Pursglove MP, said: “Access to Work provides vital support to help disabled people start, stay and succeed in work, including grants worth up £65,180 per year.

“Maximus will be partnering with us to deliver Holistic Assessments, and I look forward to seeing Access to Work support continue to develop and help more disabled people, and people with health conditions reach their full potential in employment.”
