Our commitment to the people we help and the communities in which they live continues to underpin our work. Every day, we support millions of people through our services – helping them to develop new skills, find meaningful employment, improve their health and wellbeing, and access the support they need to move forward.

As we reflect on the past year, we can be proud of our achievements. We embarked on an ambitious Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, and engaged with thousands of colleagues to develop our six new global values. Accountability, Collaboration, Customer Focus, Compassion, Respect, and Innovation reflect our continued commitment to deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients and customers, ultimately helping thousands to transform their lives.

2022 has been a year of significant change and exciting growth as we built on our recent successes. Since joining Maximus in 2021, we have continued to utilise the expertise of our BeeZee Bodies team, and this year, expanded our community health capabilities with new contracts in Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, and Hounslow.

We are continuing to invest in innovative technology, both in the UK and globally, ensuring we improve user experience and service delivery to meet the evolving needs of both commissioners and citizens. Our contact centre teams recently expanded their digital footprint and rolled out new services at pace, including a helpline that supports Ukrainian refugees.

At the start of the year, we marked the end of our Job Entry: Targeted Support (JETS) service. Launched in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, our dedicated teams can be proud of their work, supporting more than 20,000 people to return to the labour market in London, Wales, and Southern England.

Through the dozen remaining employment and skills programmes in operation across the country, we remain committed to provide specialist support to ensure all our participants have access to the right opportunities to help them thrive. Our Community Partnership Networks continue to grow, with more than 350 members for us to engage and collaborate with to meet the changing needs of our participants.

Investing in local communities remains a priority, and in March 2023 we launched our Local Impact Fund to provide grants to charities and community organisations to aid economic recovery. Whilst the grant-giving enterprise, Maximus Foundation UK, celebrated a significant milestone this year as its total donations surpassed £585,000.

As we look to the years ahead, we remain committed to meeting society’s challenges, innovating and moving forward with our values at the heart of everything we do.
