Maximus UK has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, committing to fair treatment for current or former military personnel and their families.

The Covenant is a promise to actively support the armed forces community, ensuring they are not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.

We have long supported veterans through our employment and health programmes, helping individuals transition into civilian and working life.#

Remploy, a Maximus UK business, was in part established to offer employment opportunities for disabled veterans returning from war.

Committing to build upon this work, Maximus UK will:

  • Offer guaranteed interviews to veterans who meet the minimum criteria for roles, with priority job offers over equally qualified non-veterans
  • Work with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to provide a tailored employment pathway for service leavers
  • Develop new relationships with armed forces organisations and charities, building on existing partnerships
  • Celebrate and promote Armed Forces Day and Reservists’ Day

A working group will implement these commitments and work with veterans and reservists in the business.

Signing the Covenant, accompanied by Reservists and Armed Forces Veterans from across Maximus UK, Dr Paul Williams, Division President, said:

“I’m incredibly proud to formally sign the Covenant alongside valued colleagues who have served, or continue to serve, in the Armed Forces.

“Maximus has a strong heritage of supporting those leaving the Armed Forces, and their families, to transition into civilian life and access the services they’re entitled to.

“I’m committed to making our business a great place to work for veterans and reservists. The initiatives we’ve announced today will help us achieve this.”

Colonel Alastair Caie, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, said:

“I’m delighted to sign the Armed Forces Covenant with Maximus, who have renewed their commitment to support serving and retired personnel and their families.”
