Head of Community Partnerships

Charis leads the Community Partnership team for West and South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The team is responsible for building community relationships, managing the Community Partnership Network, Social Value commitments and engagement and relationship management with Job Centre Plus across the area.

Experience and expertise: Charis joined Maximus as Head of Community Partnerships for West and South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in 2021. She has 15 years’ experience in Welfare to Work across various roles, including Operations Management and Employer Engagement.

Having always worked on commercial contract delivery, she understands the importance of balancing the mission with the results. She has always been passionate about the employability sector and Maximus’ mission to transform lives. Whilst working across the third sector, she experienced the value that charities and social enterprises have in communities. Charis’ role enables her to support Maximus’ passion for supporting the communities it serves, whilst enhancing the opportunities for participants to access added value support. Charis is a people-focused person who thrives on collaborative working and making a difference.

Prior to joining Maximus, Charis held the role of Chief Officer of the Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People and worked for Remploy for 12 years. Charis holds a Social Sciences degree from Nottingham Trent University.

Earlier this year, Charis became Chair of our grant-giving enterprise, Maximus Foundation UK, and was previously a Trustee of the Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People.

Hobbies and interests: Charis enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking and exploring new places. When she walks near her home, she often has her lively terrier ‘Stanley’ in tow!
