Experience and expertise: Nicky’s entire 20-plus year career has been focused around working with communities.

She started working as a Youth Worker, leading afterschool activities, youth clubs, detached youth work programmes and working with young people at risk of falling out of school.

Nicky also spent many years working in neighbourhood renewal areas, essentially places where deprivation was high and correlating factors such as anti-social behaviour, poor health outcomes and increased barriers to work were also dominant.

Nicky specifically worked in health and wellbeing since 2009, where she was part of the local NHS stop smoking service as a reducing health inequalities coordinator, moving around over the years supporting communities and local organisations to work together in addressing the wider and social determinants of health.

Nicky joined Maximus in April 2018 as Head of Integrated Wellbeing, and since then has been supporting teams across the business to proactively recognise the health and wellbeing factors that can and do have an impact on an individual’s confidence, motivation and behaviour.

Her primary focus at Maximus has been expanding our contract portfolio into the world of Public Health, specifically focused on the prevention agenda. Nicky is passionate about helping individuals, families, and communities to reach their potential and feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Hobbies and interests: Nicky enjoys being outside and generally keeping active. Over the years she has cycled from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, and England to Spain. She has also recently raised over £3,000 for Meningitis Now, running 10 marathons in 10 days in memory of her mum.
